ARCHITECTURE AND NATURE
Despite its image of business hub, my favourite sceneries of Singapore are the combination of natural landscapes and manmade structures. Sentosa has a great beach view at the southernmost point of continental Asia while the scene of blue water contrasting to outstanding architecture is remarkable on Marina Bay Sands. The rooftop of the newly- opened National Gallery of Singapore and the green roof of Marina Barrage offer coloured sky, green grass, and a touch of human creation.
Henderson Waves Bridge will show you a great design of curved bridge with a yellow balau wood floor. For a bay view, the Helix Bridge links Marina South and Marina Centre by its DNA-shaped stainless steel walkway.
ART IN MUSEUMS AND IN DAILY LIFE
A great place to start is definitely the National Museum of Singapore. The history of Singapore is much more interesting and fun with new multimedia. The National Gallery of Singapore has officially opened to the public recently while colourful graffiti art is quietly waiting for the audiences in Haji Lane.
CULTURAL DIVERSITIES AND KIND PEOPLE
Limited space in the country is not at all a problem for diversity. In the heart of Singapore, various cultures, ethnicities and religions are in the people of Singapore’s daily life. Chinatown, Little India, Arab Street and Orchard Road are linked by walking distance. For example, in Arab Street, the charming Sultan Mosque was eye-catching while Sri Veeramakaliamman Temple in Little India are more vividly colourful. The outstanding Buddha Tooth Relic Temple shines with gold and red in Chinatown.
ENERGY BOOSTER AND LEISURE BREAKS
Another method to explore local cultures is simply food. In trendy area of Bugis and Haji Lane, the first fun stop was found at Selfie Café. Make an order which has whipped cream on top, take a selfie, and then get your picture on your drink! Another sweet stop was for a famous ice cream sandwich. Among main dishes, Dim sum and hot Chinese tea in Chinatown was a splendid meal. For dinners, Chilli crab and fried buns at Clark Quay did a great job for me.
